I may have misled a friend into believing that I have reached some inner state of serenity and peace.
Let me assure you, nothing could be further from the truth. The only thing that has changed is that I stopped my headlong rush towards self-destruction.
My new goal is to live to be a crotchety 80 year old pain in the ass.
Other than that, I’m still Anti-Everything just like I always have been. Just in more positive ways.
This week (St. Murphy willing as always) we are going to be thinking through what being Anti means, specifically trying to work out the implicitation and possibilities of being explicitly Anti-State.
But first let’s celebrate the Anti in all of us with The Vandals - Anti. Not just a song; a way of life.
(Note: I don’t know why the Vandals seem to encompass my world view. Its kind of sad when your life philosophy is best represented by a parody punk band. Sad, or Advanced, or Hawesome. Maybe some of all three.)
